General Requirements
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs facilitates applications for passport and citizenship applications and renewals through Saint Kitts and Nevis Embassies, High Commissions and consulates (overseas Missions) which transmit them to the Ministry of National Security for processing. Through our Missions, persons may obtain an emergency travel document known as an Emergency Certificate to facilitate urgent travel in cases where a person’s passport is expired, lost, stolen, damaged or otherwise unavailable. This is usually for one-way travel to Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The issuance of all categories of Saint Kitts and Nevis Passports (Diplomatic, Official and Ordinary) are under the purview of . Although consular offices may facilitate citizens overseas with passport applications, the documents are issued by the Immigration Department in Basseterre. The Ministry and overseas Missions can ONLY authenticate documents issued and endorsed by the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis. This usually pertains to documents signed by the Registrar of the Court, the Registrar of Companies or their representatives.
