Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis (6 October, 2025) – The Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs et al, was paid a courtesy call by His Excellency Fernando Brun, Secretary of International Economic Relations of Argentina, during the margins of the Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) 2025, held in Saint Kitts from 29 September – 3 October, 2025.

This marked the first official meeting between the two representatives, which provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on areas of common interest, with particular emphasis on trade and agriculture. The discussions, held in a spirit of cordiality and mutual respect, reflected the longstanding relations and cooperation that have developed over the years through bilateral and multilateral engagement.

Both the Foreign Minister and the Ambassador expressed their governments’ continued commitment to advancing initiatives that promote sustainable agricultural practices, youth empowerment in the agricultural sector, and the strengthening of tourism linkages. They recognized that enhanced cooperation in these sectors provides avenues for mutual benefit through national development.

The dignitaries agreed on the importance of maintaining regular dialogue and welcomed the prospect of a follow-up meeting during a future official visit.

The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis remains committed in fostering strong and productive relations with the Argentine Republic, which is guided by our shared values of progress, prosperity and mutual respect.
