
London, United Kingdom (6 October 2025) — Across the United Kingdom, the month of September was marked by several celebratory activities to commemorate the 42nd Anniversary of the Federation’s Independence. Nationals from Bedford, Birmingham, Leeds, Leicester and Manchester hosted Dinners and Services of Thanksgiving. On Friday, 19th September 2025, it was the turn of the Saint Kitts and Nevis High Commission to the United Kingdom, which proudly celebrated the 42nd Anniversary of the Independence of Saint Kitts and Nevis under the theme “Perpetual Progress: A Sustainable Future in View – Independence 42.”
The commemorative activities began with a solemn Evensong Service at Westminster Abbey, which flew the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis, followed by a Dinner Reception hosted in the Delegates Lounge of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Building, in London.
The evening brought together members from the various Saint Kitts and Nevis national Associations across the United Kingdom, citizens, descendants and friends of the Federation, in a vibrant demonstration of national pride and unity.
His Excellency Kevin M. Isaac, High Commissioner of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Kingdom, gave remarks in his official capacity and delivered the Independence Address on behalf of Prime Minister the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, which was directed specifically to the diaspora community in the United Kingdom. Guests later enjoyed a sumptuous dinner and fellowship in recognition of the enduring spirit of independence and the collective achievements of the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The programme was chaired by Counsellor Thouvia France, who extended a warm welcome to all in attendance and conveyed the High Commission’s deep appreciation for their continued commitment to celebrating and promoting the heritage of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The High Commission extends its gratitude to all who attended and contributed to the success of this significant milestone in the life of the Federation and expresses it profound pleasure in having been able to participate in the various activities across the United Kingdom.
